March Mold Mania – Disc Golf’s Answer to March Madness

March Madness season is upon us. Similar to years past, I have convinced most members of my family to create a bracket, and together we watch the score sheets and brackets crumble as our picks don’t always pan out. Personally, I average about .75 NCAA basketball games watched per year. My other family members less. At the time of this post, my 6 year old daughter is currently tied for first for points in our family pool, beating myself, my two brothers, my sister, my wife, my parents, and my other two children. #GoTeamCandyCaneEaters

Apparently I am not the only disc golfer around with limited NCAA knowledge that still enjoys making a bracket though. I stumbled across a post from DGCR’s onemilemore that links to the March Mold Mania tournament challenge. Essentially, this bracket challenge puts some of disc golf’s favorite discs against each other in an effort to determine a disc golf disc champion. If you would like to participate in the voting, the post can be found at Noodle Arm Disc Golf’s page.

Other disc golf companies have got in on the bracket madness as well. Steve Dodge of Vibram Disc Golf put an offer out in his latest email to a Vibram throwers bracket. He promised swag to anyone that gets more points than him (currently we are tied.. fingers crossed!), with the top 10 finishers getting the new Vibram prototype disc, The Valley. The winner of the Vibram Disc Golf Madness is also going to get a nice package from Steve. Noodle Arm Disc Golf site’s the bracket that Discraft is doing as well.

With March Madness upon us, the good news is that spring is in the air, and weather conditions should be turning to more enjoyable rounds on the course. Good luck with your brackets if you have them, and have fun on the course.
