Even Family Pictures Can Become Disc Golf Experiences
Apparently, when it comes to disc golf, anything can become a disc golf experience. Today my family got together for family pictures. My sister and nephews are in town from Boise, ID, and my brother’s family came into town from Austin. (My other brother’s family, my parents, and my family are all in Houston.)
Since the pictures were outside at Buffalo Bayou Park, and I always have discs in the car, I pulled out a putter and started playing catch with my son, and older brother while we were waiting for everyone else to show up. After a while, we then started a game of closest to pin (or any random tree, sign post, lamp pole, etc). Essentially, while one set of family members were taking pictures, the other group was playing. At one point, my sister and her kids were about to finish up with their series, and I thought it would be funny to include a random disc in their photo, even though they do not play disc golf. They were good sports about it, and throughout the rest of the day, we kept taking pictures with random discs.
Not all of the pictures included Vibram Disc Golf discs (even though that is what I throw), but since Ricky Singleton from Team Waka and Daredevil Discs sent me some plastic to play around with, I had some of those readily available and they made some of the pictures. Since my non-disc golf family members thought it was funny, (and my disc golf family members thought it was awesome) we started trying to get discs into other group pictures as well.
My sister in law was a good sport…
The big family picture was all Vibram though… Because VIbram Disc Golf brings families together. 🙂
