Mint Discs Alpha vs Innova Thunderbird vs Discmania PD vs Dynamic Discs Getaway

I’ve (Nathan) been comparing disc flights from above.

I’ve been looking at a lot of Black Zombie discs since they’re local to Austin (where I live) so today I decided to pull out the Alpha from Mint Discs. Chase and I have done a couple of videos of the Alpha already, but this was the obvious first disc to do from Mint.

The Alpha is a pretty great slightly overstable fairway/distance driver hybrid. (they actually refer to it as a “power fairway”) Mint is pretty upfront about the variation is stability between different colors and runs, and tries to educate the community on what to expect from it’s discs. Unfortunately, I just sold of most of my less stable Alphas. I took them out to the field to test them against a Thunderbird (Innova), Getaway (Dynamic Discs), and a PD (Discmania).

The basket is set up somewhere between 380′ – 400′ feet away, I didn’t measure exactly but I know the size of my field. These are all probably 80% power shots with a run up. I’m basically going for result here, trying to land in line with the basket.

For the comparison lines, I normalized the release trajectory so that everything comes out at the same time and at the same angle. Video was taken with the drone parked directly overhead.
